New analysis session on legal aspect of human trafficking

On 22 January, we held a new meeting to address certain situations and legal aspects on protection and assistance for victims and/or survivors of human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation in Spain. Participating in this meeting were lawyers from the firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, from the legal team of the Concepción Arenal Care Centre for victims of human trafficking and prostitution and the expert team from the “Rights for Change” project from the Fundación Fernando Pombo and Asociación TRABE.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting were the difficulty in accessing certain rights and social benefits, sanctions imposed by the Citizens’ Safety Act on women involved in prostitution, obstacles in detecting and identifying victims as well as certain legal aspects related to underage children of victims of human trafficking and support.
