We present the conference “Rights for change: towards greater legal security for victims of human trafficking”.

The Fernando Pombo Foundation and the Trabe Association are holding the conference “Rights for change: towards greater legal certainty for victims of human trafficking”, which will take place on 6 April, at 6:00 pm, in the auditorium of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM). It will also be streamed through ICAM’s Youtube channel here.

During the day there will be two round tables at which we will reflect on the present and future of the regulation and approach to the phenomenon of human trafficking in our legal system and the book “Practical issues on human trafficking: an interdisciplinary vision” (“Cuestiones prácticas sobre trata de seres humanos: una visión interdisciplinar”, in Spanish) will be presented.

This collective work analyses the main barriers identified in the legal and social accompaniment of victims and survivors of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and proposes best practices and legislative recommendations to improve access to their rights. It is also the second of the publications produced within the framework of the “Rights for Change” project of the Fernando Pombo Foundation and the Trabe Association, which precedes the research report “An approach to the reality of trafficked women” (Una aproximación a la realidad de las mujeres en situación de trata, in Spanish), published in 2021.

Representatives of public institutions, the judiciary, the legal profession and some of the co-authors of the book will participate.
